1.0 Membership (Educ. Code 88003; Educ. Code 88004)

1.1 Employees in the service of the District who are employed to work on a continuing basis in regularly authorized positions not requiring certification qualifications, whether permanent or probationary, full- or part-time, are members of the classified service.

1.2 Exclusions. The following are excluded from membership in the classified service:

1.2.1 Employees holding positions that require certification qualifications;

1.2.2 consultants and technical experts employed by the District on a temporary basis;

1.2.3 substitute and short-term employees who work less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the fiscal year (195 days);

1.2.4 persons training in apprentice positions;

1.2.5 full-time or part-time students employed in work study student help or work experience education programs conducted by the District.
