1.0 Work Transferred from Other Colleges - Acceptance of Credit
1.1 Los Rios Colleges will be guided by, but not limited to, the publications indicated below in determining credit.
1.1.1 Report of Credit Given by Educational Institutions. Published annually by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers.
1.1.2 Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Forces. Published by the American Council on Education.
1.1.3 The National Guide to Credit Recommendations for Noncollegiate Courses. Published by the American Council on Education.
1.2 Transcripts of record are given full value unless otherwise noted by the publications listed above.
1.3 Where there is a question as to the accreditation of the institution or program, the problem may be referred to the appropriate accrediting body. In such cases validation of credit may be required by satisfactory work in residence or by examination.
2.0 Recognition of Work Taken in Non-Accredited Institutions
2.1 Consideration in placement shall be given to evidence of work completed at a non-accredited institution, but no unit credits shall be granted on the basis of transcripts alone.
2.2 The student may be allowed to take special examinations for credit in Los Rios college courses comparable to those already taken in non-accredited institutions. Only by passing such examinations may the student receive unit credits. The regular rule for obtaining credit by examination shall apply.
