1.0 Student Choice of College
1.1 Students may attend any college of the District and participate in inter-college athletic programs provided the student adheres to the academic standards of the District and the Athletic Code of the Commission on Athletics of the Community College League of California (CCLC).
2.0 Active Recruitment
2.1 Active recruitment means the following:
2.1.1 Visits to high schools;
2.1.2 any contact initiated by a coach with the intent of encouraging a student to attend a particular college.
2.2 The colleges will develop a promotional program to encourage increased participation of women in the college's athletic programs.
3.0 Official Classes
3.1 The Los Rios Community College District considers the fall intercollegiate sports to be official classes even though practice begins prior to the opening date of other college classes. A student entering these classes at any college in the District shall be considered officially enrolled in that college as of the first date of his/her participation in practice.
4.0 Student Transfer
4.1 Transfers between and among the colleges of the District shall be subject to the sections of the Athletic Code which governs transfers.
5.0 Dissemination of Information
5.1 High schools of the District will be notified of the rules and regulations governing athletic participation by the Los Rios District.
6.0 Los Rios District Athletic Committee
6.1 A Los Rios District Athletic Committee shall be formed consisting of the athletic directors, the designated representative to the athletic Conference, and the Title IX coordinators of each college, or other designee, as determined by the College President and a liaison officer representing the Chancellor.
6.2 This committee shall meet at least once each semester. The chair shall rotate among the colleges. An athletic director and a designated representative shall alternately serve as chairperson.
6.3 This committee shall review yearly the status of Intercollegiate athletics within the District under open including recruiting, due process in the event of problems, relegating activities or athletic code changes, and shall perform other related duties as specifically assigned by the Chancellor.
6.4 The Chancellor's liaison officer to this committee shall be the Assistant Chancellor of Educational Services.
