1.0 Financial Assistance
1.1 Los Rios Community College District students will be provided with financial assistance consisting of available grants, loans, work study and other such aids or a combination by:
1.1.1 maintaining a match level and maintenance of effort to provide assistance to all eligible students.
1.1.2 establishing a comprehensive and diverse aid program from Federal, State, community and private sources;
2.0 Administrative Practices
2.1 Administrative practices will be to:
2.1.1 increase community awareness of services and programs offered;
2.1.2 make every effort to meet the demonstrated needs of all eligible students to the extent funding will permit;
2.1.3 exercise controls to insure that need-based aid awards do not exceed documented need;
2.1.4 award aid on the basis of demonstrated financial need except where established otherwise in regulation;
2.1.5 recognize that the primary responsibility for financing rests with the student and family. Financial assistance from the college and other sources is only intended as supplementary to the efforts of the family;
2.1.6 help students seek, obtain, and make the best use of all financial resources available;
2.1.7 provide literature with a clear statement of the costs of attendance;
2.1.8 inform the student of the conditions under which an award is granted prior to the time when the offer is made;
2.1.9 respect the confidentiality of student records.
2.1.10 maintain an institutional policy and procedures manual at each college for all Federal and State mandated financial assistance requirements.
