Are noncredit classes really free?
Yes, noncredit classes are funded by the state of California, so there is no tuition cost to enroll. Some students may have additional expenses for books or supplies. Students who drive to campus may also need to buy a parking permit.
Do I need a social security number to enroll in noncredit classes?
No, you do not need a social security number (SSN) to enroll in noncredit classes. Everyone is welcome to enroll.
Do I need to be a California resident to take noncredit classes?
You do not need to have legal California residency to take noncredit classes at Los Rios Community College District; however, you must physically live in California beginning on the first day of classes and through the end of the term.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes, a certificate is available for those who finish all noncredit courses in a series.
Do noncredit classes qualify for Financial Aid?
No, noncredit classes do not qualify for Financial Aid.
