What is a Dreamer?

When it comes to immigration reform, a “Dreamer” refers to a young person who qualifies for the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. Dreamers are also frequently referred to as “DACA recipients.” Dreamers are a diverse group and come from many countries and cultures.

If you have a valid Social Security Number and are a US Citizen, then you are not considered a Dreamer.

Application Process for Dreamers

If you are a Dreamer, then you will follow the same pre-enrollment steps to success as other first-time students – with one exception! Instead of applying for financial aid by submitting a FAFSA, you will submit a California Dream Act Application.
