Student Advisory Committee
The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) provides a forum for communication and exchange of ideas, information, and concerns among students. It is chaired by the student trustee, who is an elected by registered students from the four Los Rios colleges. The members are comprised of representatives appointed from each of the college's student senate. They are typically the ASB president from each college. SAC meets monthly right before each regularly scheduled board of trustees meeting to address issues of effective participation in the decisions that affect students.
One of the key responsibilities of SAC is to ensure that students participate effectively in district and college governance and that they have a voice in the formulation and development of policies and procedures and processes that have or will have a significant effect on students. A key responsibility of the student trustee is to make appointments to District committees – such as district curriculum, budget, dalendar and student success – and other advisory groups as requested.
There are no upcoming SAC meetings at this time.
There is a public comment period at the beginning of every SAC meeting. Speakers are limited to three minutes. If you wish to speak to a particular item on the current SAC agenda, then your comments will be taken up during this time.
Recording of Meetings
SAC meetings are recorded on a rotational basis by each member of the committee. Minutes are for minute-keeping purposes and are available by request.
